Witham Post Office

Sign letters from former Witham Post Office

In our archives we have the letters that once adorned the front of the Witham Post Office building.

The building still belongs to the Post Office and is currently used as the Royal Mail Delivery Office, with the post office for the town centre now located in the rear of Morrisons Local in Newland Street.

The building stands at 5 Newland Street, and was built in 1939. The building closed as the main post office for Witham in August 1994. The letters are metal and stand around 8" or 20cm tall.

You can see the letters in situ on Janet Gyford's website using this link: https://www.janetgyford.com/post-office-part-of-5-newland-street-since-vacated-by-p-o/
